Report Ingeniacy 31 Enero 2012 (translated to English)

Hi!

Yesterday, 31st of January; IngenioGames have celebrated another Daily Tournament, called Ingeniacy. In that Ingeniacy, we can see some GW Zenith decks, and the typical variety of Legacy decks. I played the Tezzeret Affinity (The Affinity created by Owen Turtenwald and Jon Naskrent), but with some changes. First, i like to listen to music when i'm doing this report. The song that you can hear in this report is...

After this, i'll pass to see and explain the decklist that i had played.

3 Master of Etherium
3 Etched Champion

Sideboard:
1 Spellskite
3 Relic of Progenitus
3 Perish
2 Dismember
3 Spell Pierce
3 Mindbreak Trap

This deck is one example of the typical American Affinity, with some tops in Star City Games. However, I've done some change in comparison with that lists. For example, I've added to my list the playset of Vault Skirges, due to Skirges are pretty good against aggro and aggrocontrol. In addition, they are devastating with Signal Pests and another flying Creatures. Another difference with the SCG lists is the addition of 2 Spellskites on the mainboard. Some people say that they are too slow to play them in the main. I don't think so. I won matches with this droids. Also, we win slots of sideboard to play Spell Pierce in Sideboard, that are  good against hate, Burn, Combo...

Thanks to Ferran Font to add to this list 3 Frogmites, because they help to have an explosive beggining. Before, i had played Myr Enforcer, but they are too slow in this decklist.

Afterwards, I will explain my pairings in that Ingeniacy. 4 rounds were played , despite the tournament had top8.

1st Round: vs Ferran Font, with Next Level Dredge.

¡Zasca! Unexpected rival on the first round. I must say that he owned me twice with this deck. Well, the first match ended with the typical victory of Dredge, he puts in play some Zombie tokens, and I blow off.

Side: -2 Spellskite, -1 Memnite, +3 Relic of Progenitus (I don't remember at all).

The second match was tremendous. He stared with Dredgings and Therapies, and i started with an Ornithopter, Land and Relic that take down his beggining (2 Therapies and 4 Dredgings). I must say that in that match i drew too well, because i drew ¡2 Cranial! i put a Cranial, that was destroyed by an Ancient Grudge in grave; but i put the second Cranial, and i won. On the third match, i did a missplay that cost me the round. I had Master an Tezz in hand, but i played the Master and he died by an Ancient Grudge in play. Then, he plays a Therapy saying ¡Tezzeret! this fail cost me the round, because he put 3 tokens that killed me.

Loss, 0 points, 0-1-0.

2nd Round: vs Israel Albiol Medina, with Blue control ("o yo que sé qué era xD").

I'm in the lowest tables, so I think that it could be a easy pairing. And yes, that's right, that's how it was. In the
first match I started well, with 2 Skirges backup paying lifes, and I cast Signal with success; and they, with Blinkmoth, Memnites... i win the match.

Side: -2 Spellskite, -1 Memnite, +3 Spell Pierces.

In the second match, although I stared explosively, he put me ¡2 propagandas! that stopped me. But luckily for me, he damaged himself to the infinite with Ancient Tomb. In Addition, i could put on the battlefield one of the 3 Cranial that i had in hand, play 3 Thoughtcast, put on battlefield lands, drums, bugs... and i ended the match winning.

Win, 3 points, 1-1-0.

3rd Round: vs Jordi Nevot, with RUG Tempo (feat Snapcaster  Mage).

The most exciting round that i've played. In the first game, I started explosively, casting with success Cranial, Ornithopter, Skirge, and more. I won in 3 or 4 turns.

Side: -3 Frogmite, +1 Spellskite, +2 Relics (I must add that if it was RUG Tresshold, i would do the side: -3 Frogs, + 1 Spellskite, +2 Perish).

In the second game, in spite of starting well and remove a lot of lifes, i did a mistake anexing the Cranial, because he had 2 Delvers transformed, and I had Memnite, Signal, and Skirge. The error was annexing the Cranial on the creature that it wasn't blocked; the Memnite. After that, he played 2 Tarmos to resist, and the Delver with a Lightning killed me. The third match was... Awesome, because I won WITHOUT BOMBS xD. In that game, I Cast with Success: 3 Ornithopters, 2 Signal, 1 Skirges, 1 Memnite and 1 Spellskite, that put a big clock in table. the Spellskite only played as a lightning rod, because he played Tarmo and Lavamancer. I Put a Relic in game and I continued hitting. He played 2 Stifles against Battlecries. Then, he make the mistake that decant the game for me: he kill my Spellskite with 2 Lightnings. Then, he remember that ¡he had Snapcaster to Sifle in hand! I attack, an i win.

 Translate: ¡¡¡¡Charge!!!! xDDDDDDD

Win, 6 points, 2-1-0.

4th Round: vs Alberto Gomez, with Bant Countertop.

The last round. The winner ends in the top. In the first game, I start very well. He start with Counterbalance, and in spite of the Counterbalance, I can put on Battlefield the Cranial Plating winner. He cuts one of my bugs with Path to Exile and cast a Tarmo, but a Blinkmoth and another bug kill him.

Side: -3 Frogmite, +3 Relics.

In the second game, he starts with a Counterbalance and, despite Counterbalance counters an Etched Champion; it let enter a Cranial, bugs with flying, and a Blinkmoth. He Played 2 Rhox War Monk, one Tarmo, and he cut one bug. I hit him with 2 bugs flyers, he cut one, but in response I pass the Cranial to the another bug and i win.

Win, 9 points, 3-1-0.

finally, i waited for the Standings, and i ended 5th. I won 3€ (the same as I paid to play), not bad xD.

Props:
+ To do another top8.
+ To do it against hard pairings.
+ The Planeswaker Points that i won.
+ The good environtment of the Local and the rivals.

Slops:
- To make some mulligans.
- I didn't lose money, but i didn't win more.

Bye!
